Like the hippies of yesteryear, several couples set up their own community in the heart of the Cévennes. Despite the total freedom of this lifestyle, teenager Anya becomes increasingly withdrawn and ultimately goes to live deep in the woods, much to the consternation of her family and the concern of the local population.

Jenny, a young doctor who feels guilty after a young woman she refused to see winds up dead a few days later, decides to find out who the girl was, after the police can't identify the young woman.
