A violent gang in one of Stockholm's suburbs is suspected of another fatal shooting and the Stockholm police are conducting a cross-border operation to prosecute the leader of the gang.

The lonely doctor Gabriel Glas despises society's superficiality - until the fashion designer Helga enters his life. She's trapped in a destructive marriage, and Gabriel sees his chance to save her.
